DESCRIPTION:

This 1994 Chevy Caprice is a rare example of a 9C1 Police Package vehicle that was never used for police purposes. It was purchased at auction in 1999 from the Northern Colorado Water Conservation District. It has always been well maintained and driven mostly on the highway. The '94-'96 9C1 Caprice Police Vehicle is legendary among enthusiasts and includes (SEO) Special Equipment Options that greatly improve reliability and performance compared to the standard Caprice Classic sedan. This car runs as good as new. It has an electronic speed limiter at 130MPH and no trouble getting there.

This car is 99% factory original. All parts (including body and paint) are original except those listed below:

  • The bowtie hood ornament has been removed and replaced with a Caprice hood badge.
  • An aftermarket bra has been installed.
  • A set of 17" chrome wheels with 255/50ZR17 tires have been installed (see photos).
  • I still use the orginal cop wheels in the winter with a set of 225/70R15 studless snow tires (see photos).
  • The original full-wheel covers have been removed and replaced with the truck style bolt-on center caps (see photos).
  • The factory headlights were terrible. They have been replaced with aftermarket projection/halogen lamps powered directly from the battery via relays.
  • The 7Z5 (SEO) auxilliary fuse block was removed by the previous owner.
  • The 1K5 (SEO) low gear blockout has been removed so that you can manually shift into 1st gear.
  • This car was not factory equipped with 8X3 Bilstein shocks. I installed the Bilstein shocks front and rear. However, when the trunk was loaded the rear end would ride lower than I like so I replaced the Bilsteins with premium coil-over gas shocks on the rear.
  • The factory radio has been replaced with a later model Delco AM/FM/CD player and aftermarket iPod interface (see photos).
  • The factory front door speakers have been replaced with coaxial Cerwin-Vegas.
